  • Go to the beach, walk around, throw/skip rocks, swim, talk, play volleyball, have a picnic in the sand
  • Rollerblade at skate parks in either Anacortes or Burlington or Bakerview park
  • Hike to top of Big Rock or Little Mountain and bring your own lunch or stargaze at night (bring star map flashlight for way back)
  • Go to a park and throw Frisbee or football
  • Watch sunset or sunrise from a beach (or surprise your date by showing up early in the morning (check with parents first to make sure ok) and bring breakfast of hot cocoa, fruit, and bagels
  • Find their (date’s) interest like a sport and participate or watch
  • Go hiking (remember all State Parks require parking permit so be prepared)
  • Free places:

  • Whistle Lake near Anacortes
  • Fragrance Lake off Chuckanut Drive
  • Little Mountain
  • Make a meal together from food already in the house
  • Ride bike together
  • Do homework together – common place would be the library
  • Watch a movie

  • Have a group date where guys cook and gals bring dessert (maybe have a theme night and you choosing theme)
  • Go to Haggen’s after 8PM and race in powered grocery carts (will need management permission prior)
  • Do a progressive dinner with 3 couples (can ride in 1 vehicle this way). 1st house provides appetizer, 2nd house provides main meal, and last house provide dessert
  • Ask another household to provide meal and a movie
  • Borrow kayak or canoe for use in lake or bay
  • Play baseball or volleyball with group
  • Fly a kite
  • Test drive a new car (will have to be 18+ in order to do this)
  • During the winter, hike to snow level and build a snowman or better yet, build a snow couch. Then sit on your “couch” and drink hot cocoa.
  • Play Pictionary or other board games with group
  • Play X-box game for 2 players
  • Talk about a favortie book/poem
  • Create poem together – he writes one line, she writes the next and so on. See where the poem goes!

  • Buy disposable camera and go to Washington Park (or park of your choice). 2nd date would be to make a memory/scrap book
  • of pictures taken
  • Bike ride to Snow Goose Produce (Fir Island) and get an ice cream cone (they’re $2.50 and very large)
  • Hike to State parks and provide lunch. Cost would be in $5 parking permit
  • Go to Woodland Park Zoo
  • Provide a really nice picnic with items bought from a deli. Include the cheesecake!
  • Go to sports game – find the sport that interest both of you
  • Rent boat/jet ski
  • Go wakeboarding
  • Buy fireworks with combined money for July 4th (fireworks have been banned in Skagit County except for July 4
  • Date with 3 couples and everyone providing $20 ($120)
  • Head for Seattle!

    • Buy party sub at Subway and go to drive-in movie. Bring your own pop and popcorn. Often theatres will have double feature. Evening would go from approx 8PM-1AM
  • Date with 2 couples, guys paying $20/ each ($40)
    • Go out to dinner
    • Window shop at the mall and go to movie theatre afterwards
    • Go to local concert (Common Ground) and have dessert/latte there
  • In summer go to water slides in Birch Bay
